Safety Tips
At Nomi, your safety is our priority. While we work hard to create an environment where genuine connections can flourish, we also believe in empowering our users with information and resources to date safely.
Please review and follow these safety guidelines when using our app and meeting new people.
Meet in Public Places
Always arrange first meetings in busy, public locations like coffee shops or restaurants. Avoid private, secluded areas until you've established trust.
Tell Friends or Family
Let someone know where you're going, who you're meeting, and when you expect to return. Check in with them during or after the date.
Arrange Your Own Transportation
Use your own vehicle or public transportation. Never accept rides from someone you just met.
Keep Personal Information Private
Be cautious about sharing your home address, workplace, or financial information until you've established trust.
Stay Sober and Alert
Limit alcohol consumption and never leave drinks unattended. Stay clear-headed to make good decisions.
Trust Your Instincts
If something doesn't feel right, it probably isn't. Don't hesitate to end a date early if you feel uncomfortable.
Emergency Situations
If you ever feel unsafe or in danger during a date, leave immediately and seek help:
- Call emergency services: 911 (US) or your local emergency number
- Use the SOS feature in the Nomi app to alert your emergency contacts
- Report suspicious or concerning behavior to Nomi through the app
